Joewie Koh is an expert in machine learning and artificial intelligence, with experience in a broad range of AI and NLP applications including robotics and education.  He combines strong academic knowledge with practical applications in helping address clients’ challenges.

Joewie is passionate about human-AI interaction—a particular focus of his academic research.  His research has also focused on dialogue systems and NLP, reinforcement learning, and robotics.  He is excited to bring this expertise to projects that both improve healthcare efficiencies and optimize quality outcomes.

Previously, Joewie was a machine learning engineer at an AI consulting startup.  He also served on a magazine editorial board with the Association for Computing Machinery and performed reviews for several academic journals and conferences.

In addition to his work with Terry Health, Joewie is completing a Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Colorado Boulder.  Joewie holds a B.A. in mathematics from Reed College, a BSc (Hons) in economics from the University of London, an M.S. in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
