Mr. Terry is an expert in pensions, employee benefits, and Social Security. He is an experienced testifying expert in matters related to pensions – including private pensions, public-sector pensions, and multiemployer pensions – as well as matters related to retiree health benefits, federal government contracting, public and private bankruptcies, utility rate matters, and actuarial malpractice.
Mr. Terry is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
Mr. Terry has served as president of several actuarial professional associations including the American Academy of Actuaries, the International Actuarial Association, and the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and has chaired various committees of all of those associations. He has served as a member of the Social Security Advisory Board’s Technical Panel on Actuarial Assumptions and Methods. Mr. Terry currently serves as chair of the Board of Actuaries of the Civil Service and the Federal Employees Retirement Systems, as well as the chair of the board of the Global Aging Institute.
Prior to founding The Terry Group, Mr. Terry held various leadership positions in the actuarial consulting industry.
